The project, coordinated by the General Directorate of International Organizations and Foreign Relations, is funded by the European Union under a Brussels-based centralised call. The project aims to increase women’s representation in sport management and decision-making bodies and to raise awareness of gender equality among relevant institutions and organisations, particularly sports clubs, sports federations, sports academies, and decision-makers in the field of sports. The General Directorate of International Organizations and Foreign Relations serves as the project’s implementing unit.
Led by our Ministry, the project is being implemented in partnership with the University of Zaragoza, BK-95 Sports Club, and the Idee in Fuga Solidarity Association, with activities taking place in Türkiye, Spain, Italy, and Latvia.
As part of the project, assessments of the current situation will be conducted to promote the equal representation of women in sport management. Initiatives featuring inspiring role models in sport management will be carried out for female students studying sports sciences, and events will be organised to provide women leaders with opportunities to share their experiences. In addition, a range of training programmes, particularly on “Women Role Models, Leadership and Inclusion,” will be delivered, and digital and interactive learning tools will be developed for sports sciences students.
