T.C. Gençlik ve Spor Bakanlığı ortaklığında, Avrupa Komisyonu Horizon Programı tarafından desteklenen Nature Based Solutions EduWorld (NBS EduWorld) Projesi kapsamında düzenlenen NBS-Ekoloji Yaz Kampı, 16-19 Haziran 2025 tarihleri arasında Bolu’da gerçekleşti. Kamp, doğa temelli çözümlerle (Nature-Based Solutions-NBS) gençlerin çevresel sorunlara karşı farkındalıklarını artırmayı ve sürdürülebilirlik alanında aktif yurttaşlık becerilerini güçlendirmeyi hedefledi.

Kamp; Gençlik ve Spor Bakanlığına bağlı Gençlik Merkezlerinde çalışma yürüten gençlik çalışanları, doğa temelli çözümler konusunda eğitim almış NBS Elçileri, Türkiye’nin dört bir yanından gelen gönüllü gençler ve STEM Kulüplerinden katılanlarla birlikte öğrenen katılımcılardan oluştu. Yaygın eğitimin katılımcı yapısı sayesinde katılımcılar birbirlerinden öğrenerek güçlü bir sosyal ağ oluşturdu. Programın kapsayıcı yapısı sayesinde kamp alanı; dil, kültür, sosyoekonomik durum ve engel grupları açısından çeşitlilik içeren bir öğrenme ortamına dönüştü. Katılımcılar, dört gün boyunca yaygın eğitim temelli atölyelere, doğa yürüyüşlerine, uygulamalı eko-sanat çalışmalarına (SanAtık) ve savunuculuk oturumlarına katıldı. Eğitim süreci; deneyimsel öğrenme, akran eğitimi ve katılımcı tasarım ilkelerine dayanarak kurgulandı.

Kamp, aynı zamanda Türkiye'nin farklı şehirlerinden Bolu’ya gelen öğretmenler, gençlik çalışanları ve gönüllü gençlere ilham vererek, proje çıktılarının uzun vadede sürdürülebilirliğini sağlama yolunda önemli bir adım oldu. Kamp, NBS EduWORLD Projesi’nin D5.1 çıktısı olan “STEM Kulüpleri ve Gençlik Merkezlerinde NBS Eğitimi için Rehber” dokümanının ilk saha uygulaması olarak büyük önem taşıyor. Bu uygulamadan elde edilen bulgular yalnızca Türkiye'deki gençlik merkezleri için değil; Avrupa genelindeki yaygın öğrenme yapıları için de referans oluşturacak. Kamp sonucunda elde edilen materyaller dijitalleştirilerek uluslararası ağlarla paylaşılacak ve diğer ülkelere uygulanabilir bir model sunulacaktır.

Doğa ile öğrenmeyi merkezine alan bu kamp, gençlerin çevresel liderlik, yeşil beceri kazanımı ve toplumsal dönüşüm süreçlerinde daha aktif roller üstlenmelerini sağlayarak NBS EduWORLD Projesi’nin vizyonuna güçlü bir katkı sundu.

The NBS-Ecology Summer Camp, organized within the scope of the Nature Based Solutions EduWorld (NBS EduWorld) Project supported by the European Commission’s Horizon Programme in partnership with the Ministry of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Türkiye, took place in Bolu between 16 and 19 June, 2025. The camp aimed to raise young people's awareness of environmental issues through nature-based solutions (NBS) and to strengthen their active citizenship skills in the field of sustainability.

The camp brought together youth workers from Youth Centers affiliated with the Ministry of Youth and Sports, NBS Ambassadors trained in nature-based solutions, volunteer youth from across Türkiye, and participants who learned together with those attending from STEM Clubs. Thanks to the participatory structure of non-formal education, participants were able to learn from one another and form a strong social network. With its inclusive design, the camp environment transformed into a diverse learning space encompassing different languages, cultures, socioeconomic backgrounds, and groups with disabilities. Participants engaged in non-formal education-based workshops, nature walks, hands-on eco-art activities (SanAtık), and advocacy sessions for four days. The educational process was designed based on the principles of experiential learning, peer education and participatory design.

The camp also served as an inspiration for teachers, youth workers, and volunteer young people who travelled to Bolu from various cities across Türkiye and marked a significant step toward ensuring long-term sustainability of the project outcomes. The camp holds significant importance as the first field implementation of the “Guide for NBS Education in STEM Clubs and Youth Centers,” which constitutes Output D5.1 of the NBS EduWORLD Project. The findings from this implementation will serve not only as a reference for youth centers across Türkiye, but also for non-formal learning structures throughout Europe. The materials generated as a result of the camp will be digitized, shared through international networks, and presented as a scalable model for use in other countries.

This nature-centered learning camp made a strong contribution to the vision of the NBS EduWORLD Project by enabling young people to take more active roles in environmental leadership, green skill development and social transformation processes.
